What products do you offer?
Australian Fluid Handling offers a
range of different products including pumps, compressors and customised pump skid systems to a host of different industries. Pumps that AFH supply include
chemical metering pumps,
chemical pumps,
high pressure pumps,
diaphragm metering pumps,
sealless pumps,
chemical injection pumps and more. Compressors AFH supply include
reciprocating compressors,
centrifugal compressors,
gas compressors,
screw compressors and
coal seam gas compressors to name a few. For more information on any of the pumps or compressors available from AFH, contact us today. AFH also specialise in delivering customised skid Customised and Engineered skid packaged equipment. By doing so, equipment is able to fit spaces appropriately and remain accessible for functionality and future maintenance.

oil and gas industry, the
petrochemical industry, the
chemical industry,
the water treatment industry, the
mineral processing industry and the
refrigeration industry
What is an Engineered Skid Package?
This is the description at AFH that we use to describe an integrated package mounted on a common base plate. The package generally includes a mixture of tanks, piping, high pressure pumps or compressors, instrumentation, motors, valves and other operational hardware. These are generally purpose Engineered and built to suit the specific application for the specific project.
The advantage of this approach is that the package can be sized exactly to fit the available space, equipment positioned to ensure that it is most accessible for use as well as maintenance.
What’s the difference between Reciprocating Compressors and Centrifugal Compressors?
The main difference between a
reciprocating compressor and a
centrifugal compressor is the means by which they compress gas and liquids. Reciprocating compressors utilise a back-and-forth, piston-like motion to provide movement while centrifugal compressors require a spinning motion to provide movement and compress materials. Screw Compressors, likewise, utilise corkscrew movement to compress gases.
Why use 3D solid modelling and not conventional line drawings?
3D solid modelling is a significant investment in software, hardware and training on our behalf. It is firmly believed that by taking this approach that designs can be worked thoroughly at the concept and development stage to avoid fabrication and assembly problems at the time of assembly. A significant bonus is that through a free viewer programme, the model can be examined by the purchasing, engineering and operations staff to ensure that the layout suits their requirements. Plant designers can also incorporate the AFH model to give it the real feel. Be it centrifugal compressors, gas compressors,
Why use a Sundyne machine?
Sundyne are the only company that has successfully developed the integrally geared pump and vertical single stage compressor into a reliable unit in the field. There are no competitors with the same product offering. The advantages that are inherent with this design include: Simple construction and therefore maintenance Generous internal clearances for maintenance of performance in the presence of fluid contaminants Small footprint and therefore minimised requirement of real estate High degree of interchangeability of maintenance parts between models
Why are Nikkiso pumps used in the Refrigeration industry?
Nikkiso’s range of
sealless pumps and refrigerant pumps were basically adopted as the industry standard over thirty years ago in Australia. At that time their pumps represented an excellent option to pump Ammonia and other refrigerants with zero leakage to atmosphere due to the canned motor design.
This continues to be valid. Over the years the concept has remained exactly the same whilst the materials of construction and manufacturing methods have improved which result in an excellent value for money alternative.
Pumps and parts are stocked in Melbourne specifically for this market resulting in short lead times.
